Questions and answers

Building a chatbot is very simple nowadays.

Yet, Building a WORKING chatbot is an extremely complex operation.

Building a real conversational marketing management software for hotels is not only a chatbot thing and it is TellThehotel’s great challenge.

Not settling down merely with a chatbot, but building a real conversational marketing management software for hotels is TellThehotel’s great challenge.

THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS AND FUNCTIONALITY

A chatbot or chatterbot is a software application used to conduct an online chat conversation via text or speech.

Designed to convincingly simulate how a human would behave as an interlocutor, chatbot systems typically require continuous tuning and testing, and many in production remain unable to converse properly. The term “ChatterBot” was originally coined. by Michael Mauldin (creator of the first Verbot) in 1994 to describe these conversational programs.

Chatbots are used in dialogue systems for various purposes, including customer service, routing of requests or gathering information. While some chatbot applications use extended word classification processes, natural language processors, and sophisticated artificial intelligence, others simply search for generic keywords and generate responses using common phrases obtained from an associated library or database.

Most chatbots can be accessed online via website popups or via virtual assistants.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the name of that branch of computer science that studies the possibility of building computers that are able to reproduce the functioning of some capabilities of the human mind or, in the case of the so-called strong artificial intelligence, of the entire human thought.

TellThehotel virtual assistants reproduce the conversational behavior of the human staff of a hotel in an instant messaging environment, using Human Language Understanding and Processing technologies (in English, NLU and NLP). They are therefore “partially” intelligent, as could be a calculator or, on a more complex level, the program for playing chess Deep Blue.

TellThehotel is not just a chatbot, but a platform designed to facilitate and optimize communication between hotels and guests via the main instant messaging systems, such as, for example, Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp.

From the TellThehotel dashboard it is possible to respond centrally to messages from various sources and applications. Ultimately, TellThehotel is conversational marketing software for hotels and tourism facilities.

Conversational Marketing harnesses the potential of messaging apps to reach the target audience directly, establishing more human relationships with potential customers.

Therefore Conversational Marketing is a marketing model that places the emphasis on two-way communication between user and brand.

ETHICAL ASPECTS

“We do not consider it respectful of your potential, current or past guests to fake a human interaction.

Therefore, we work a lot in terms of user experience to clarify as much as possible when the converssation takes place with a software and when with a human being.

Absolutely not. We know hospitality work all too well and how much it is based, ultimately, on HUMAN contact between guest and staff.

TellTheHotel does not aim to replace human beings and their indispensable work, but rather to free human beings from the mechanical and less gratifying part of it.

Not only does TellTheHotel scrupulously follow the GDPR, but all the systems with which it is integrated, from messaging systems to hotel management systems, do the same.

The data of the guest conversations are therefore processed and processed in an absolutely secure manner and in accordance with the law.
